1993

Javier Gutierrez begins collaborations with selected institutions for the development of film festivals and cinema-forums, along with the publishing of critical works on film directors, movies and cinema movements.
(From 1989 he had moved to Salamanca where he studied Philology, produced three novels and a book of short stories, being the author of a large production either written from his childhood and teen age).
Meets Nere Pagola (responsible for the co-edition of "Dream of Light" ("El sol del membrillo") by Victor Erice, both with Juan Ignacio Sanmateo, recently voted best film of the decade by the national film archives around the world) and promotes the project of a short film script entitled "Arthur" by Javier Gutierrez, which she finally decides to produce.
It´s marked up a date next year for filming.
Starts up, with Victor Sanchez, the theater company "Samarkanda", which includes various stage performances in the comedy genre (sketches and gags, screwball, slapstick), the black theater, with puppets made of wood and wire, interactive and audiovisual works aimed at children and youth (with performances in halls of many schools, libraries and culture institutions), as well as for adults (in theaters and odeons).
Javier and Victor premiere at Juan del Enzina Theatre "Symphony of Breezes".
Mario Caballero opens the spring season with his controversial and avant-garde work "Shi-eh" ("Liberation"), again at Teatro Juan del Enzina in Salamanca, sponsored by a committee of the University of Salamanca and Javier Gutierrez.


1994
Javier Gutierrez directs "ARTHUR", a noir film story with cinematography and images riches in contrast, light and shadow artistic cinematography, designing an aesthetic influenced by the "neo-expressionism" that characterized the genre in the 40s and 50's cinema noir classics.
Pagola´s production directed by Javier Gutierrez is performed by actors who start out in Madrid stage and play their roles in several films and TV productions.
Mario Caballero, Javier Gutierrez and Victor Sanchez starred Blanca Fernandez's film "ONCE UPON WHICH WAS", a metaphor for the fascination of power and greed and the consequences carried along.
Javier Gutierrez and Mario Caballero, together with other artists and promoters, they plan the creation of an independent association defending the rights of professionals in visual arts, performing films and theatre plays, while finishing their respective creations (screenplays, theatrical and pictorial works) and careers (Philology, Audiovisual Communication, Fine Arts). The name will be SIMBIOSIS.
Javier Gutierrez complete several screenplays for short films: "The site", "No time to lose," and promoted the release of "Every day at the same time," a screenplay by Oscar de Julián (usual screenwriter for Chema de la Peña), heading Fernando Fernandez (in the final-winning director of photography "Fungi" by Ramon Salazar ("Stones"), which is awarded by the Xunta de Galicia in the European Year of the Elderly People.


1995
Javier Gutierrez, Mario Caballero, and Tatiana de la Riva (specialized in civil and criminal law) make the bylaws of the Association for Independent Artists SIMBIOSIS and placed firstly in Salamanca. 1996

Javier Gutierrez directed the film "Her own reflection" with a team of technicians from various schools SIMBIOSIS Image and Sound. 1997
In February premieres "Your own reflection" in the Spanish Film in the Film Library of Castilla y Leon in Spain Fund (Zamora) and other institutions and localities of our country. (The film has recently been compared to "The Others", by Alejandro Amenabar).
At exhibitions they accompany themselves directors presentations, discussions and debates with the audience that crammed the projection rooms and decide to stay mostly in the courtroom after the projections to the curiosity aroused by the process of filming these works.

Following the success of this second film work the team decides to plan the filming of "The unoccupied cabin," a satirical comedy sci-fi drama based on one's own Javier Gutierrez, with an undercurrent of social criticism in which subjects are questioned as racism, abuse the environment and attitudes of rejection and marginalization of minorities.
Javier Gutiérrez publishes "Young Spanish filmmakers," a book that includes interviews with the new Spanish directors, in collaboration with the Platform for New Directors (PNR).
In addition to this publication Javier organizes and coordinates a course in theater "Caja Duero" on current Spanish cinema, with screenings of short films and feature films produced in our country, with a thematic relationship in the films of different footage and collaboration the PNR.

Javier Gutiérrez contact MARIAN FILMS, Latin American producers and film academy, which serves as a link between the works of Spanish and American achievement, based in Madrid.
